Farewell, Popey!

...this is what happens when you have way too much free time on your hands.


For some reason, Pope Emeritus Benedict always had an 'Oh, exploitable!' thing going for him. Seriously, do a Google search on him, each and every single photo he's taken always put a smile on my face (and it's not just because some photos make him look like Emperor Pope-atine.)

The photo that I saw on MSN (top left) was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. That snazzy jacket. The hands raised as if he's going to zap some poor unfortunate Jedi off screen. It -beckoned- to me. And so, with two hours and enough boredom, I fooled around a bit in Photoshop, and had some fun. My co-workers were like, "Seriously. Ryan. You need -HELP-." And I was like, "Oh, HOW COULD I PASS THAT UUUUUP?! You toss me a curveball and I've gotta swing!" I mean, look at that jacket. That -screamed- Colonel Sanders to me.


...and for no reason, whatsoever, a Harlem Shake Pope, complete with glowsticks!


Now, I meant absolutely no disrespect towards the Pope whatsoever. I just had some fun with Photoshop, and what can I say? Any man that can bring a smile to your face with a simple gesture can't be that bad, right?


Well, here's to hoping that whoever steps in his shoes would be awesome. To me, Pope Jean Paul II was the best Pope ever, and those are going to be some huge shoes to fill.


So long, Pope Benedict. You may not have been around long, but you sure gave us some good laughs.
